How can you make an impact?

We are seeking an Academic Designer with expertise in planning and developing high quality, print focused instructional materials for teachers and students, including lessons, scope and sequence, and supporting resources. This role emphasizes strong middle school ELA and ELD pedagogy, standards aligned publishing practices, cross functional collaboration with vendors and internal teams, careful quality control, and thoughtful problem solving throughout the content development lifecycle.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of December 31st, 2026.

What you will be doing:

  • Plan and develop instructional content for teacher and student materials across print, digital, and media formats, including learning objectives, scope and sequence, lessons, and supporting resources.
  • Support publishing initiatives by contributing to prototypes, exemplars, guidelines, project proposals, and scope documentation to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between vendors, internal engineering partners, and Academic Design teams to support smooth content development and production workflows.
  • pply strong expertise in grades 6-8 Reading/Language Arts and English Language Development to produce accurate, standards aligned, high quality materials that meet market and project requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback, identify and resolve risks, improve processes, and stay current on literacy research, curriculum trends, and educational technology.

What you can bring to this role:

  • 2+ years of experience in literacy curriculum development and educational publishing, with a focus on grades 6 to 8; teaching experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of content development best practices, literacy pedagogy, and state and national standards such as CCSS, B.E.S.T., and TEKS.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy, quality, and meeting production timelines in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a strong command of English grammar and style, paired with effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with digital learning tools and publishing software, including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and content authoring systems, with experience creating accessible content preferred

The pay range for this position is between $50,000 - $65,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
