| Essential Job Duties |
This role provides key leadership for our
MRI department and oversees anesthetic scheduling across three veterinary hospitals. You'll manage a team of veterinary technicians and diagnostic specialists, ensuring safe, efficient imaging workflows for both elective and urgent cases involving all species.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily MRI operations and coordinate anesthesia scheduling across 20+ clinical services.
- Mentor, manage, and support staff: hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure smooth patient flow, highquality imaging, and strong collaboration between MRI, anesthesia, clinicians, and hospital administration.
- Maintain and improve clinical protocols, SOPs, safety standards, and departmental communication.
- Oversee equipment readiness, maintenance, compliance, and preparation for inspections (state, federal, radiation safety).
- Serve as the MRI safety lead and primary liaison for diagnostic equipment and IT systems.
- Support hospitalwide initiatives, education, and operational planning.
Direct Clinical Responsibilities
- Prepare/position patients, perform drug calculations, sedation, and advanced monitoring.
- Assist with perianesthetic care, emergency response, CRIs, catheterization, transfusions, and infectious disease protocols.
- Operate MRI and monitoring equipment and manage QC, cleaning, and safety procedures.

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
Bachelor's degree and two years of general research experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

| Preferred Qualifications |
Broad Veterinary Experience: Background working with small and large animals (canine, feline, equine, and farm species), with enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring 4thyear veterinary students.
Leadership & Teamwork: Proven ability to supervise, support, and develop team members while contributing to a collaborative, solutionfocused work environment.
Adaptability in a Clinical Setting: Comfortable working around sick animals, anesthetic gases, cleaning chemicals, zoonotic diseases, and other typical hospital hazards.
Professional Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to remain calm, clear, and professional-even during stressful or emotionally charged situations.
Physical & Technical Skills: Able to lift up to 50 lbs (with or without accommodations), work occasional extended hours, and confidently use computers and electronic medical systems. |
