Position Overview






Primary Purpose of Position
The University Program Manager I of Parking and Transportation Services is responsible for the development and administration of a comprehensive parking and transportation program for NC A&T State University campus.

This position will be involved in the planning and implementation of the parking policy and program while providing strategic organizational leadership; fiscal oversight; strategic planning and operational implementation; business management; and policy development and recommendations to achieve goals and objectives.

The department is responsible for the permitting for students, employees and visitors, event parking and parking compliance.

Due to the nature of services provided, the Director works closely with our business partners, Housing and Residence Life, Athletics, Police and Public Safety, Disability Services and other aspects of the campus community.

Responsible for developing and implementing long-range renovation and equipment replacement plans; provides strategic direction for operations and revenue generation; responsible for personnel management (hiring, supervision, evaluation, professional development) and represent Parking and Transportation Services and Campus Enterprises on various committees, task forces and local, state, regional and national organizations.

Also is responsible for adjudication of difficult cases, appeals process and resolving customer complaints.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
Parking Services manages the university's parking resources by providing campus access to the campus community, visitors and our guests. We are committed to a safe and orderly parking environment through enforcement of parking rules and regulations. We are a customer service driven department.
Minimum Requirements
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field; three or more years of progressively responsible management supervision experience, preferably in higher education or public/private parking operation; experience with personnel and bargaining unit issues and with managing budget and finance issues.

While preferable to have experience in parking facilities operations, management and repair and maintenance within the parking industry, transferable business skills are acceptable and training on parking industry specific issues will be provided.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Higher education campus experience and graduate degree in appropriate discipline preferred.
Highly desirable: Demonstrated, strong understanding of the T2 Flex platform.
Required License or Certification
Must possess and maintain a valid license to drive in the state of North Carolina.
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
