Aerospace Shipping & Logistics Administrator

PPG's Aerospace Business is seeking a Shipping & Logistics Administrator for our Wallingford facility. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the shipping and logistics operations to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient delivery of goods. You will need prior knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and regulations, as well as a proficiency in logistics software and ERP software.

This is an onsite position in our Wallingford, CT facility and will report to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all shipping and logistics activities, including scheduling shipments, tracking deliveries, and managing inventory.

• Prepare and process shipping documentation such as bills of lading, customs paperwork, invoices, and labels.

• Work closely with packing and operations team to verify weights and dimensions for PO requirements on shipping method.

• Communicate with external clients such as carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth transportation and delivery of goods.

• Monitor shipment status and resolve any issues or delays promptly.

• Work with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure safe and timely delivery of goods.

• Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics costs.

• Collaborate with operations, quality and procurement teams to optimize shipping and logistics processes.

• Assist in the development and implementation of logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Work with carriers and freight forwarders with filing claims for damaged goods.

Qualifications

• Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or other related field preferred.

• 3+ years in manufacturing logistics administration required.

• Prior Aerospace experience a plus.

• Knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and regulations.

• Proficiency in logistics software (i.e. UPS and FedEx software) and ERP/MRP systems.
