Department OverviewThis position will be part of the Software Enterprise Center of Excellence Presale team. The Software Enterprise team is responsible for defining and designing customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions across Motorola's expansive public safety product portfolio that includes Next Generation 9-1-1 Call Processing and Call Routing, Computer-Aided Dispatch and Records Management, Digital Evidence Management, Intelligence-Led Public Safety, Real-Time Video and Data Analytics, Community Engagement Applications, and Land Mobile Radio. Our Solution Architects bring to life the innovative communications solutions that make a difference in the moments that matter, and the Presale Business Manager coordinates all of the costing related to that solution and provides Sales with the consolidated proposal document that will be presented to the Customer. Job Description

The Presale Business Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with customers and our sales teams to understand their needs

  • Manage the development and implementation of the presale process for public safety solutions

  • Develop a consistent approach to RFPs, proposals, and quoting, which includes creating desired, consistent, and accurate documentation

  • Manage cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, and Product Teams, focused on delivering timely, accurate proposals

  • Create specific statements of work, producing detailed project schedules, and ensuring the proposed customer solution aligns with the sales team's strategy

  • Interface with PM Resource Managers, Sales Managers, Engineering Managers, Presale Project Planners, and Senior Division Staff to effectively coordinate presale activity

  • May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities

  • Interface with public safety customers, subcontractors, and other Motorola Solutions Inc. employees via meetings and/or conference calls

  • May assist in contract negotiations with public safety customers

This is a customer-facing position that relies on solid presentation skills, experience with a wide variety of audiences, and a deep knowledge of various public safety agencies. Working with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams requires excellent interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, communication skills, and a collaborative attitude.

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • 4+ years of experience in one ore more of the following: project/program management, presales business management, business development, and/or sales enablement

  • Ability to clearly interpret and comprehend customer requirements to create a quality project plan, schedule, and budget

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to effectively analyze a project's P&L and identify improvement solutions

  • Ability to analyze trends and forecast business results

  • Extensive experience working with various computer application programs (Windows environment, MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chrome, Google, etc.)

  • Prefer background in or with the public safety market

Target Base Salary Range: $100,000 -$125,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
