Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Insurance Specialist. This position can be based in our Legal Department remotely from your home-office or from any of our U.S. based offices such as: Acton, MA, Columbia, MD, Chicago, IL, Oak Brook, IL, Lakewood, CO, Seattle, WA. This position will have a primary responsibility for managing the portfolio of commercial insurance for our Company. The position will be instrumental in supporting the day-to-day operations of Geosyntec by helping our project teams be responsive to our client's needs. Qualified candidates for this role need a strong working knowledge of commercial insurance products (professional liability, commercial general liability, auto liability, cyber liability, etc.). A working knowledge of captive insurance programs would be advantageous.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Work closely with Chief Legal Officer to track, manage and renew Geosyntec's commercial insurance program.
  • Support the company's leadership and project managers understand the insurance coverage maintained by the company and help in making decisions and recommendations on coverage updates.
  • Collaborate with Chief Legal Officer and company leadership to review exposures and insurance program, determine if carrier is the best fit for the client while considering coverage, protection, and cost.
  • Collaborate with insurance broker to market, quote, and prepare the proposal for the client from both a risk management and insurance prospective to decide upon the "best" way to manage the company's risk.
  • Provide day-to-day service to the company's practitioners, anticipate project insurance needs, and respond to issues/questions in a timely manner.
  • Communicate and collaborate with insurance brokers to address issues, respond to questions and ensure necessary insurance is in place.
  • Track and process premium payments, insurance audits and assessments.
  • Request and review for accuracy certificates of insurance.
  • Manage board material for captive insurance program, review monthly loss runs and support annual premium audits.
  • Maintain insurance records.
  • Keeps customers up to date on "pending changes" in the insurance world that may impact their insurance coverage.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree's degree in insurance, risk management, business administration, or related degree and/or 3 years commercial insurance experience as an insurer, broker and/or insured's risk management department or seven (7) years of directly related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.   • Experience renewing commercial insurance program on behalf of a business is strongly preferred.
  • High degree of critical thinking; ability to solve problems when the answer is not readily apparent. (required)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, producing outcomes with minimal errors. (required)
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced environment. (required)
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced level proficiency with a variety of technology including MS Office. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $89,610 /year / Maximum Salary: $134,415/year (Chicago, IL, Oak Brook, IL, Lakewood, CO, Columbia, MD)
  • Minimum Salary: $93,880/year / Maximum Salary: $140,820/year (Seattle, WA)
  • Minimum Salary: $98,145/year / Maximum Salary: $147,220/year (Acton, MA)
