The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are seeking a Social Impact Program Manager to support our growing Social Impact team in Seattle, WA.

The Program Manager builds, manages, and evolves a strategic portfolio of external partnerships that advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the construction and engineering ecosystem. This role identifies, cultivates, and sustains relationships with nonprofits, educational institutions, workforce development organizations, industry associations, and community-based partners to strengthen talent pipelines, expand access to opportunity, contribute to healthy communities and drive measurable social impact aligned with company priorities.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Manages an existing portfolio of DEI-related partnerships aligned to the construction and engineering field, including education-to-career pathways, skilled trades, and community impact partners.
  • Identifies strategic partnership opportunities that advance company social responsibility goals while addressing industry-wide challenges such as workforce shortages and equitable access to careers in the trades and engineering fields.
  • Establishes and executes partnership strategies, goals, and success metrics; tracks outcomes and evaluates impact to ensure partnerships deliver mutual value.
  • Serves as the primary relationship manager for external partners, fostering trust, alignment, and long-term collaboration.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to connect partnerships to brand, workforce development and engagement efforts.
  • Translates partnership opportunities into clear programs, pilots, or initiatives with defined scopes, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Represents the company externally in industry, community, and DEI-focused forums.
  • Ensures partnerships reflect inclusive, ethical, and community-centered practices and align with company values and risk considerations.
  • Delivers high-quality, polished presentations, program plans, reports, collateral, and written materials for audiences ranging from individual contributors to senior leaders.
  • Manages schedules and deliverables by meeting deadlines, anticipating risks or delays, developing alternate plans, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Communicates regularly with partners and senior leaders, including arranging meetings, confirming schedules, providing clear progress updates, and addressing program issues.
  • Documents meetings effectively by taking accurate notes, preparing follow-up materials, and distributing action items with minimal oversight.
  • Contributes to other Social Impact and DEI projects and programs as needed, embodying our #OneTeam McKinstry mindset
  • Handles confidential and sensitive information with a high level of discretion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • 6+ years of professional experience in a DEI, corporate social responsibility/ESG, project manager, or program manager role required.
  • Demonstrated experience with diversity/equity/inclusion, related partnerships and community service inside a medium to large organization.
  • Experience building and leading a partnership program for a company.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Power BI preferred.
  • Experience developing and effectively executing plans, and managing projects and programs required.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous and/or time-sensitive situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks of high priority and meet deadlines in professional, confidential, and efficient manner required.
  • Demonstrated relationship-building and informal leadership skills required; ability to inspire, motivate, and empower required.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
  • Excellent writing and presentation development skills required.
  • Excellent sense of emotional intelligence, self-direction and self-motivation required.

The pay range for this position is $72,090 - $119,300 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
