As the university's largest enrolled undergraduate degree program, Marshall advances its academic mission through the intentional enrollment of talented, engaged, and globally minded students. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions & Outreach serves as a strategic steward of Marshall's undergraduate enrollment, integrating student-centered recruitment with data-informed enrollment management in close partnership with USC's Enrollment Services Division.

This senior role is designed for a deep generalist admissions leader who brings strong college counseling instincts, analytical judgment, and systems fluency, while coordinating marketing, communications, and early outreach initiatives that inform student decision-making and shape the entering class.

About the Office

The Marshall School of Business Office of Undergraduate Admissions & Outreach, in partnership with USC's Enrollment Services Division, delivers comprehensive recruitment and outreach services for the Accounting and Business Administration degree programs. All formal admissions decisions are coordinated and communicated by USC's Enrollment Services Division.

Marshall receives more than 30,000 undergraduate inquiries and 16,000 applications annually, enrolling first-year and transfer students from diverse educational pathways. The office is recognized for its innovative, student-centered approach, including the launch of a Marshall Early Decision pilot, reflecting a commitment to transparency, access, and intentional enrollment planning.

Position Overview

The Senior Associate Director is a senior member of the Undergraduate Admissions & Outreach leadership team, contributing broadly across recruitment, outreach, and enrollment strategy while providing functional coordination of marketing, communications, and early outreach initiatives.

The Senior Associate Director engages directly with prospective students, families, and counselors; supports recruitment across first-year, transfer, and continuing student populations, and participates in shared office coverage during peak cycles.The role is fully embedded within a generalist admissions model and works in close partnership with the Assistant Dean to shape recruitment strategy, enrollment priorities, and program-level initiatives aligned with Marshall's academic mission.

In collaboration with faculty leadership and USC Enrollment Services, the Senior Associate Director contributes to program-specific applicant evaluation, selection processes, and enrollment planning for Marshall-administered and specialized undergraduate programs. Marketing, communications, and program production are approached as strategic levers to inform student choice, strengthen yield, and align enrollment outcomes with Marshall's academic priorities.

The ideal candidate should possess sound judgment, adaptability, and a collaborative approach within a fast-paced, cycle-driven environment, as well as accountability for outcomes and a willingness to flex across responsibilities as institutional priorities evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior admissions generalist providing direct outreach, counseling, and recruitment services
  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and evaluation of integrated recruitment and outreach strategies
  • Coordinate segmented communication initiatives informed by data, audience insights, and student behavior trends
  • Translate enrollment data, inquiry patterns, and application outcomes into actionable insights and reporting
  • Coordinate marketing and communications initiatives, including external vendors and digital engagement tools
  • Support innovative recruitment and early outreach initiatives, including the Marshall Early Decision pilot
  • Contribute to applicant evaluation and enrollment planning for specialized Marshall programs
  • Supervise and mentor professional staff, volunteers and graduate assistants
  • Manage budgets and resources for assigned initiatives
  • Collaborate with USC Enrollment Services, faculty, and campus partners
  • Contribute to a collaborative, accountable team culture by sharing responsibility for office outcomes, adapting to shifting priorities, and supporting colleagues during peak recruitment cycles
  • Participate in seasonal travel and evening/weekend recruitment activities as required

Preferred Qualifications

Admissions & Enrollment Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., higher education administration, business, education leadership, communications, public administration, STEM or a related field)
  • Experience in undergraduate admissions, enrollment management, college counseling, or related student-facing roles
  • Knowledge of FERPA, financial aid processes, and international student considerations

Strategic, Analytical, & Systems Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to use enrollment data, dashboards, and reporting to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Experience assessing recruitment and outreach initiatives through analysis and evaluation

Strategic Marketing & Campaign Leadership

  • Experience leading integrated, audience-segmented marketing and communication campaigns across the recruitment lifecycle
  • Ability to translate institutional priorities, enrollment insights, and student behavior data into cohesive campaign strategies

Vendor & Project Governance

  • Proven experience overseeing external vendors, agencies, or consultants as strategic partners
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects while balancing creativity, compliance, and budget stewardship

Technical & Digital Fluency

  • Experience with CRM and communication platforms such as Salesforce, Slate, and Marketing Cloud
  • Proficiency with digital tools, web platforms, survey applications, and presentation software

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Program or project management experience in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience supervising and developing staff
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Anticipated Hiring Range

The annual salary range for this position is $81,329.53 - $114 507.24. USC considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, experience, education, skills, internal peer equity, and external market conditions when extending an offer, in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
