The purpose of the Branch Controller position is to maintain fiscal responsibility for each assigned division of Ben E. Keith Food Distribution, and to ensure the establishment and administration of adequate internal controls. * Prepare and manage to monthly operating budget and perform monthly closing process to optimize division financials * Oversee inventory control to ensure safeguarding of inventory assets and accuracy of inventory balances * Manage program pricing and VPT (Vendor Payment Tracking) Administration to ensure accurate customer pricing and recovery of amounts owed by vendors * Manage route reconciliation process to ensure accurate and complete accounting for all deliveries and adequate controls * Manage Accounts Receivable process to ensure timely and effective posting of all remittances * Manage Accounts Payable process to ensure timely and accurate payment of all vendor invoicing * Manage payroll process to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll * Ensure completion of daily/weekly/monthly administrative responsibilities and manage resolution of outstanding issues * Oversee and support direct reports as needed. Generate, maintain and use reporting on the degree to which each individual Associate, and the Accounting Department overall, are achieving performance metrics and benchmarks identified for each person/position/function. * Manage the day to day tasks of direct reports. * Assess performance of direct reports against established benchmarks, and provide feedback. Mentor, coach, develop and hold accountable Associates, for their contributions, performance and achievements. * Consistently demonstrate and model good management and self-management practices in support of BEK culture. * Help to ensure financial controls are established and adhered to. Job Qualifications * 3 years Finance experience required * At least 2 years of management experience and previous experience as a Controller preferred * Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Financial applications; PeopleSoft A/P, Payroll preferred * Knowledge of Food Service industry preferred, as well as state and federal regulations * Excellent Verbal and Written Communication * Strong Analytical Skills - Ability to Multi-task * Relationship Management - Excellent Organizational Skills * Ability to Manage Others - Detail-Oriented * Self-Directed/Self-Motivated - Strong Problem-Solving Skills * Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Finance, CPA a plus Ben E.
