Overview:

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) will play a critical role in driving the execution of our Enterprise Data Strategy and enabling the transformation of our BI organization into a Strategic Data Enablement function. This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional programs spanning data governance, data quality, semantic modeling, architecture modernization, AI-powered analytics, and operational excellence across our data platforms.

What You'll be Doing:

Program Leadership & Execution

  • Drive planning, execution, and delivery of cross-functional programs across the six pillars of the Enterprise Data Strategy.
  • Lead end-to-end program management for major initiatives including the Unified Semantic Layer, Metrics-That-Matter, governance rollout, and platform modernization.
  • Establish and maintain roadmaps, OKRs, RAG status, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Ensure program visibility and alignment across leadership, technical teams, and business partners.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Facilitate collaboration between Data Engineering, MDM, Analytics Engineering, BI Advisors, Data Governance, Security, and IT.
  • Coordinate intake, prioritization, and resource assignment.
  • Serve as connective tissue between teams to unblock progress and ensure timely decisions.
  • Prepare and run steering meetings, working groups, and program reviews.

Governance & Standards

  • Support operationalization of governance processes (data ownership, stewardship, quality workflows, policies, RACI).
  • Drive rollout and adoption of definitions, standards, and architectural guardrails.
  • Ensure compliance and audit-readiness for SOX, IPE, lineage, and metadata requirements.

Operational Excellence

  • Establish repeatable program management frameworks and reporting.
  • Improve processes around intake, execution, testing, release, communication, and post-implementation review.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and implement improvements.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Provide clear, concise updates to senior leaders.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Build high-quality materials for executive reviews and planning cycles.

Technical Acumen

  • Understand data architecture patterns, semantic modeling, MDM, data quality frameworks, and analytics workflows.
  • Work effectively with engineers, architects, and data modelers.
  • Provide context for technical decisions, tradeoffs, and risk identification.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in Technical Program Management.
  • Must have experience leading cross-functional programs in data, analytics, BI, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.
  • Must have a solid understanding of modern data stacks (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, AtScale, Purview, MDM).
  • Experience with governance, lineage, or compliance programs.

Preferred:

  • Experience in SaaS or high-growth tech environments.
  • Familiarity with semantic layer tools, metadata tools, or MDM platforms.
  • Background in Agile or hybrid delivery.
  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum certifications (optional).

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.

The annual salary range for this position is $120,334.55 to $145,000.00.

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
