Infrastructure Project Manager - VMware to OpenShift Migration Location: Onsite - Orem, UT Duration: 6+ Month Contract (Potential Extension) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and coordinate a large-scale VMware to OpenShift migration initiative. This role is critical to keeping the program on track, ensuring milestones are met, risks are managed, and cross-functional teams are aligned throughout the migration lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a strong background in infrastructure modernization projects, understands virtualization and container platforms, and excels at driving execution in complex, highly technical environments. This is a hands-on delivery role, not a PMO-only position. Key Responsibilities * Own end-to-end project management for the VMware to OpenShift migration, ensuring delivery against scope, timeline, and objectives * Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, dependencies, milestones, and risk registers * Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams including infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, security, and application teams * Track progress and ensure migration phases (assessment, planning, build, migration, validation) move according to plan * Proactively identify risks, blockers, and resource constraints; drive mitigation and escalation as needed * Lead and facilitate project meetings, stand-ups, stakeholder updates, and technical reviews * Ensure alignment between technical execution and business goals * Maintain clear communication with leadership and stakeholders through status reports, dashboards, and documentation * Enforce project governance, change control, and delivery best practices Required Qualifications * 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a strong focus on Infrastructure, Platform, or Cloud initiatives * Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure migrations or platform transformations * Solid understanding of: o VMware environments o Container platforms (OpenShift strongly preferred) o Infrastructure modernization and enterprise IT ecosystems * Demonstrated ability to manage highly technical teams and complex dependencies * Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills * Experience driving delivery in fast-paced, high-visibility programs Preferred Qualifications * Direct experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes migrations * Background working with DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering teams * Familiarity with hybrid or on-prem infrastructure environments * PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification (nice to have, not required) Work Environment * Onsite role in Orem, UT * Hands-on collaboration with engineering and infrastructure teams * High-impact project with executive visibility Contract Details * Duration: 6+ months (with potential extension) * Start: ASAP #techjobs After you have applied, download our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App to receive real-time job offers and apply for additional opportunities.
