Position Title: Donor Cultivation Associate, Gift Planning
Position Classification: Regular, Exempt, Full-Time, 40 Hours a Week
Reports To: Senior Director of Gift Planning
Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S. or a hybrid of these two options.

Position Overview:
The Donor Cultivation Associate will be a part of a five-person Gift Planning team. The team offers education, tools, and support to constituents and their advisors who give legacy, creative, or tax-wise gifts today, through retirement, or at their passing to help sustain PIH for generations to come. In close partnership with the Senior Director of Gift Planning, Manager of Community Giving, Manager of Donor Stewardship, external vendors, and members of the Marketing and Communications department, the Associate manages the daily operations of the Gift Planning team's legacy society cultivation and stewardship program. The Associate plays a key role in increasing integration across existing communications and in the execution of new initiatives to upgrade donors through tax-smart gifts, cultivate new members of PIH's legacy society, Tom's Circle, and longitudinally sustain their commitments.
Responsibilities:
  • 60%: Serve as the Gift Planning team's primary point of contact for print and digital communications, partnering with external vendors as necessary. Increase Tom's Circle integration into existing communications and new initiatives. Collect compelling resources, obtain approvals, communicate dependencies, and meet deadlines to produce around 50-60 education and cultivation messages a year. Support the launch and refinement of a new legacy-concentrated annual marketing campaign.
  • 25%: Manage the systematic cultivation of ~300 passive self-identified Tom's Circle prospects and the systematic stewardship of ~900 Tom's Circle members.
  • 5%: Annually review and refresh the team's library of 20+ educational overviews and tools.
  • 5%: Interview supporters and draft the content into a narrative to promote tax-smart giving and legacy society membership across print and digital platforms. Increase representation of historically underrepresented communities whenever possible.
  • 5%: Work in partnership with team members and vendors to analyze Gift Planning marketing performance. Ensure data is imported back into the database as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in similar roles or industries, focused on supporting fundraising-projects in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Experience identifying and sustaining new donor constituencies.
  • Experience working with project management systems like Asana.
  • Experience working with data management systems like Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of current trends in charitable giving, charitable estate planning, and personal finance preferred.

Pay and Benefits:
The expected starting salary range for new hires in this position is between $57,000-$65,000/year and may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market for the position, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position belongs to a class of roles that have a salary range between $50,000 and $70,000/year. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan with automatic employer contribution, as well as participate in organization-sponsored medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents.
