Job Summary:

The Pit Assistant Manager/Floor is a dual rated position that oversees daily Card Club pit operations, ensuring proper staffing, game control, and regulatory compliance. This role maintains the appearance of the Card Club, supervises Pit Floor staff and dealers, completes required shift paperwork, manages card control and dealer rotations, and opens and closes pit games as needed. The Pit Assistant/Floor manages pit activities in the absence of the Pit Manager and supports pit operations when the Pit Manager is on duty. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead by example.
  • Maintain a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Create high levels of morale, foster teamwork, inspire collaboration, delegate effectively, and coach and mentor direct reports for growth opportunities.
  • Maintain the appearance of the card club.
  • Manage pit activities in the absence of the Pit Manager
  • Manager, supervise and provide guidance for Pit Floor staff and dealers
  • Responsible for all shift paperwork, card control, dealer rotation, and opening/closing of Pit games in the Pit Manager's absence
  • Maintains and ensures compliance with all Canterbury Park and MRC regulations, policies and procedures
  • Acts as Pit Floor person when Pit Manager is on duty
  • Any other related tasks as directed by the Pit Manager or Director of Casino Games


Supervision:



  • Pit Dealers and Pit Floor Staff


Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 3 years Casino or Card Room experience.
  • Minimum 1 year Casino or Card Room floor experience.
  • Extensive game knowledge and prior dealing experience.
  • Must be adaptable, versatile and tactful in dealings with the public
  • Reliable, pleasant personality, able to deal with difficult customers and situations.
  • The ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure is essential
  • Must have basic computer knowledge
  • Must be able to obtain an MRC license and pass a background check.
