What You Will Do:
GFT's Construction Services Business Line in the City New York is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support an on-going multi-disciplinary project in Staten Island, New York located in close proximity to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety andquality standards. What you'll be challenged to do: As an Assistant Resident Engineer at GFT, you will play a visible role in delivering critical infrastructure that protects public health and supports daily life in New York City. You will contribute to the modernization of a vital sanitary pump station in Staten Island, helping ensure reliable wastewater service for the surrounding community while navigating the complexity of construction in a dense, highly constrained urban environment. This role will challenge you to grow as an engineer by working across multiple trades and disciplines, gaining exposure to new building construction, civil and utility systems, and temporary infrastructure that keeps essential services operating during construction. You will collaborate closely with utility providers and adjacent capital projects, strengthening your ability to manage interfaces and solve real-world construction challenges. Through hands-on involvement and direct coordination with experienced construction leaders, you will deepen your technical judgment, communication skills, and understanding of how large public works projects come together. The work you support will have a lasting community impact, while positioning you for continued advancement within GFT's Construction Services team. The salary range for this role is $149,000 - $172,000 per year. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Featured Benefits:
