Job Description




As a Security Officer - Factory Rover Patrol in Mapleton, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and monitor assigned areas for unusual activity. You will communicate clearly with site personnel and visitors, respond to calls for assistance, and document observations to support smooth operations, all while living our agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, integrity-driven culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, yards, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, and directing visitors to the appropriate destinations per site policy.
  • Monitor alarm panels, cameras, and other site systems as assigned, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, including incident documentation, shift activity reports, and maintenance or hazard observations, and route information to the appropriate contacts.
  • Support emergency and evacuation procedures when appropriate, including assisting with scene control, guiding personnel, and documenting actions taken.
  • Communicate professionally with contractors, drivers, and employees to help support site rules, traffic flow, and restricted-area controls.
  • Perform interior and exterior checks for unsecured doors, damaged fencing, unusual conditions, and operational concerns, and notify management and/or maintenance per protocol.
  • Use radios, phones, and computer systems to receive and relay information, coordinate responses, and maintain situational awareness across the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
