As a Security Officer - Petrochemical Plant Patrol in Wilmington, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site teams, and support site procedures while providing outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, contractors, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and request fire, medical, and/or law enforcement response when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, administrative spaces, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized access and/or unusual activity.
  • Control access at gates, entrances, and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and directing authorized traffic to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor cameras, intrusion detection, and/or other monitoring systems, and report observed issues per site procedures.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and shift documentation with accurate details and timely updates.
  • Perform rounds to observe for security-related concerns such as open doors, damaged fencing, malfunctioning lighting, and/or suspicious packages, and report findings per post orders.
  • Support site evacuation, shelter-in-place, and/or accountability procedures during drills and emergency response activities.
  • Assist with contractor and delivery processing by checking credentials, validating destinations, and maintaining entry and exit documentation as required.
  • Communicate professionally with site leadership, operations personnel, and Allied Universal supervision to coordinate response and share relevant observations.
  • Enforce site rules related to restricted areas, photography limitations, and/or prohibited items by providing clear directions and escalating concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Operate radios, phones, and/or other communications equipment to maintain situational awareness and coordinate patrol coverage.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
