Now Hiring Flex Security Officers for Transit Platforms!

Working in conjunction with a Metropolitan Transit Task Force and our client security teams. MetroLink security professionals provide safety and security of riders on the transit light rail system, station platforms throughout the Greater St. Louis region. Customer service skills are a high priority. This is an outdoor posted position. Duties will include post security until relieved.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Preferred Skills: Ability to Lift 20+ Pounds

Requirements: 1 year Security Experience, Computer Literacy

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests to appropriate destinations per site procedures.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems, and report irregular conditions to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, calling for medical assistance, and coordinating with local responders when needed.
  • Complete daily activity logs and incident reports with clear, accurate details, and communicate pertinent information during shift turnover.
  • Conduct building and property checks for unsecured doors, propped entrances, suspicious items, and maintenance concerns, and report findings through the appropriate channels.
  • Support site operations by providing wayfinding, answering questions, and assisting with crowd and/or queue management during peak periods or special events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
