As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in New London, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff a front desk post to help control access to the facility by greeting arrivals, verifying identification and/or appointments as directed, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Monitor lobby and reception areas for unusual activity and promptly communicate concerns to on-site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, disruptive behavior, and facility alarms as assigned.
  • Answer phones and route calls, questions, and service requests to the appropriate department while maintaining a professional, helpful presence at the front desk.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, access control panels, and intercoms when assigned, and report issues for service.
  • Complete detailed reports and shift documentation related to incidents, access issues, and other security-related matters in line with site requirements.
  • Support patient privacy expectations by directing visitors appropriately and limiting the sharing of personal information to authorized parties in accordance with site policy.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff, facilities, and local responders during emergencies, including assisting with area notifications and access coordination as directed.
  • Assist with security-related administrative tasks such as badge inventories, key control logs, and delivery intake documentation as assigned by site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
