As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, clear communication. You will document activity, support staff and visitors, and provide strong customer service while acting with integrity and teamwork. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
- Conduct armed post duties in accordance with site post orders, applicable laws, and Allied Universal policies, maintaining control of assigned equipment.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calling for medical support and/or law enforcement assistance as directed by site procedures.
- Perform access control for staff, contractors, and authorized visitors by verifying identification, screening for prohibited items as required, and documenting entries and exits.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, monitoring for unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
- Monitor doors, gates, sally ports, and controlled movement points as assigned, reporting malfunctions and/or irregularities to site leadership.
- Observe and report suspicious behavior, contraband concerns, and/or policy violations to appropriate site contacts, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Complete required logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in a timely manner, using approved systems and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Operate site communications equipment such as radios, phones, and/or alarm interfaces as assigned, relaying information clearly and promptly.
- Support emergency response actions such as evacuations, lockdown procedures, and accountability steps as directed by site protocols and leadership.
- Provide assistance to staff and visitors with directions, information, and de-escalation support when appropriate, maintaining a professional presence.
- Participate in required training, briefings, and post inspections, and report hazards and/or maintenance issues through established channels.
Minimum Requirements: - Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- Have 6 months or more of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- Be 21 years of age or older.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
