STV currently has openings for Mid-Level Design Engineers with experience in utility design in our NYC office.

STV is seeking a Mid-Level Utility Design Engineer to assist with infrastructure and site development projects for various public and private clients. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team to assist on various city infrastructure design projects and will meet scope, schedule, budget and quality. This position requires knowledge of public and private utility design requirements including hands-on experience with city street design. Previous experience meeting requirements of NYCDEP, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, FDNY, Con Edison, National Grid, Verizon and other utilities in the NYC area is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mid-Level Utility Design Engineer for public and private infrastructure design projects from project inception to Final Design and into construction
  • Interact with agencies having jurisdiction over design and private utility companies for coordination of design necessary to gain sign-offs and approvals.
  • Assist the management team with the scope and schedule for the delivery of technical design documents to meet agency requirements necessary for contract documents.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of New York preferred; E.I.T. with requisite experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the design drainage, green infrastructure practices, watermains, street lighting, ITS infrastructure, gas for National Gird and Con Edison, and steam mains and duct work for ConEdison electric and various communications companies.
  • Experience coordinating staging of the design with MPT, traffic signals and street reconstruction design.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the utility design of watermains, gas mains, steam mains, sewers, electrical and communication conduits and drainage to meet agency requirements.
  • Responsibility to meet scope, schedule, budget and quality for the delivery interim and final documents necessary for contract documents.
  • Experience working with other engineering disciplines and public agencies/municipalities,
  • Experience with either AutoCAD-Civil 3D and/or Microstation ORD is required.

Compensation Range:

$128,289.89 - $171,053.19
