Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been approved in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.
Position Summary:
Ardelyx is seeking a strategic and innovative leader to serve as Associate Director, Commercial Reporting. In this pivotal role, you will drive the development and enhancement of Ardelyx's commercial reporting capabilities, delivering actionable insights that inform business strategies and executive decisions in a dynamic biopharmaceutical environment.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Business Analytics, you will play a critical role in analyzing sales, market, and performance data to support commercial strategies, forecasting, and informed decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in commercial analytics and reporting within the life sciences industry, combined with advanced technical expertise in SQL programming, BI platforms (e.g., Tableau), advanced Excel, and other analytical tools. You will thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional setting, partnering closely with IT, Market Access (including Trade and Patient Services), Sales, Marketing, Finance, Medical Affairs, and other key stakeholders to meet their reporting needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in defining the reporting strategy to enable the Commercial organization to deliver against the business strategies, including building, deploying and embedding the reporting capability into the business and operations!
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations covering key commercial metrics, such as sales performance, market trends, prescription data, market share, claims data (including patient journey), and competitive intelligence
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to understand business needs and objectives and translate business unit objectives into effective KPIs and dashboards
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to create intuitive, interactive dashboards and visualizations in BI platforms (e.g., Tableau) that drive insights and informed business decisions
  • Automate reporting processes across multiple platforms to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reduce manual efforts
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and summaries highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and actionable commercial insights
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously evolve data analysis and reporting strategies
  • Establish robust processes for data quality assurance, including identifying and resolving discrepancies prior to publication in corporate reporting environments
  • Partner with IT and third-party vendors to ensure seamless operation, integration, and optimization of reporting systems and data warehouses, including cohesive staging of disparate data sources in line with business rules
  • Work closely with IT to gather, define, and document business requirements for field and headquarters reporting; test new functionalities to confirm alignment with needs
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to interpret data trends and ensure all reporting adheres to regulatory requirements and company policies
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred, in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field with 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial analytics/reporting within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry, or equivalent experience
  • Proven technical proficiency in SQL, BI tools (Tableau), advanced Excel (including VBA/pivot tables/modeling), and data automation techniques
  • Ability to leverage visual analytics and data storytelling to deliver compelling insights that inform and enhance strategic decision-making
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable delivering presentations to a wide range of stakeholders including executive leadership teams
  • Proven ability to extract and harmonize variables from diverse, disparate data sources to produce cohesive, insightful reports and dashboards
  • Extremely detail oriented & demonstrate problem solving/resolution skills
  • Aptitude to compile, analyze and present data in a concise manner and translate analysis into actionable insights and recommendations in both written and oral contexts for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Have familiarity in working with complex data sets and building automated processes
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently in a lean, dynamic, and nimble environment
  • Strong ability to build rapport, establish credibility, and partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including market access, sales, marketing, and senior leadership
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $179,000 - $222,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
Ardelyx also offers a robust benefits package to employees, including a 401(k) plan with generous employer match, 12 weeks of paid parental leave, up to 12 weeks of living organ and bone marrow leave, equity incentive plans, health plans (medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision),life insurance and disability, flexible time off, annual Winter Holiday shut down, and at least 11 paid holidays.
