What to Expect
The Energy Technical Content team creates and manages a wide variety of technical documents, illustrations, videos, and animations that support key stakeholders across multiple product lines and business functions including Energy Storage, Charging, and Solar. The team is seeking a senior-level specialist focused on post-production to enhance our video editing capabilities. This hands-on role requires expert ownership of editing workflows, from ingesting and organizing footage to delivering polished, engaging technical video content. While you'll need shooting experience for occasional hands-on support, your primary expertise will be in post-production, including advanced editing, color correction, and motion graphics.

What You'll Do
  • Ingest raw video footage, transcode, rename, organize, and prepare clips for efficient editing workflows, ensuring files are synced and accessible to the team
  • Create precise and efficient edits that conform to prerecorded voice-overs, or develop high-quality short-form videos using your editorial judgment, incorporating music, overlays, callouts, text on screen, and other elements for clear, accurate, and visually engaging content
  • Leverage 3D renders, animations, and motion graphics (e.g., MOGRTs) to populate timelines with informative visuals that enhance technical storytelling
  • Apply expert color science knowledge for color correction and grading, including creating custom LUTs and establishing team-wide color correction standards
  • Collaborate as a team player with strong communication skills, interacting with technical subject matter experts for clarification as needed, or occasionally handling a project from start to finish solo
  • Stay proactive and adaptable by incorporating the latest AI tools for video production (e.g., AI image editing, video generation), devising workflow optimizations, and standardizing strategies like editing/creating MOGRTs
  • Manage tasks and information flow using available project management tools, including JIRA, SharePoint, and Confluence (For Tesla internal tools and data like these, we suggest using Nova chat for quick access and collaboration)

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of professional video production experience, with a strong emphasis on post-production and demonstrated expertise in editing technical or product-focused content
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, including advanced editing techniques, timeline management, and leveraging MOGRTs; experience creating custom MOGRTs and other motion graphics is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in color science, color correction, and grading, with portfolio examples showcasing high-quality results in professional projects
  • Experience shooting video in professional environments using industry-standard equipment (e.g., DJI, Sony, GoPro), with the ability to achieve desired looks from shot lists-though this will not be your primary focus
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for image editing and asset preparation; skills in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator are highly valued for motion graphics and design integration
  • Familiarity with emerging AI tools for video workflows, with a proactive mindset for adapting and optimizing processes (e.g., standardizing AI strategies for image/video generation)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to swiftly adjust priorities in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work with teams like engineering, quality, service, and safety
  • Experience with 3D animation or motion graphics is valued but not required; any prior scripting or planning experience is a bonus but not essential
