Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Phoenix, AZ Employment Type: 6-12 Month Contract (Opportunity for Permanent Hire) Industry: Transportation Manufacturing Compensation: $25/hr + 10% shift differential Schedule: Multiple Shifts (Must be flexible during training period) Shift Options: * 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM * 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM * 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM * 40 hours per week (Monday-Sunday schedule; 5 days per week with rotating days off) * Optional overtime available About the Opportunity: Join a high-impact transportation manufacturing environment where your technical expertise directly supports the safety, reliability, and performance of a train system. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, guideway equipment, switches, platform doors, and related subsystems. Job Requirements What You'll Bring: High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 1 year of experience in maintaining and repairing automotive or transportation systems and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical systems either personally, educationally, or professionally, displaying mechanical aptitude Minimum of 1 year of experience utilizing hand tools What Sets You Apart: Associate Degree or Technical/Trade School Degree showcasing mechanical aptitude Experience in the railroad, APM (Automatic People Mover), or transportation industry Knowledge of basic electronic theory Aptitude for mechanical operations and the operation of equipment Knowledge in the use and application of a variety of hand and power tools Ability to read and follow instructions. Willingness to work various shifts, as needed The position needs regular exposure to outside weather in challenging environmental conditions. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. EHS procedures must be followed and proper PPE (provided by the company) must be worn. Be able to work from elevated work areas and use ladders, squat, and climb as needed Employees may be needed to work in a train yard with live power tails and moving equipment.
