Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI) is seeking a proactive, talented, detail-oriented, and highly motivated individual for the position of Accounting Technician.

Job responsibilities include:
* Processing payments.
* Submitting purchase order requests.
* Processing change orders.
* Conducting a quarterly review of open purchase orders.
* Closing purchase orders.
* Assisting with PCARD activities.
* Exercising quality control over financial processes.
* Researching payments and other financial processes.
* Performing redistributions and other corrections.
* Assisting with fiscal year and project close out efforts.
* Initiating new supplier requests and changes to existing suppliers.
* Performing project archiving duties.
* Providing customer service to vendors and staff.

The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience with initiating purchase orders and/or invoice payments.
* Be familiar with financial software.
* Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
* Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Have experience resolving financial discrepancies.
* Possess strong problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrate strong customer service skills.
* Demonstrate a helpful approach and a willingness to assist staff and vendors.

The Department promotes a partial telework schedule in accordance with County and Department policies.
Salary commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma; three (3) years of work experience related to assigned area; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Experience and comfort with financial and/or project management software solutions is preferred. Prior work experience in Oracle financial software is a plus.

The successful candidate will undergo a criminal, credit, and driving background check.
