Overview Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. A post-doctoral fellowship opportunity is offered in the Program in Epidemiology in the Division of Public Health Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Naoko Sasamoto and Dr. Holly Harris, to become part of their research team focused on reproductive health, including ovarian cancer, endometriosis, fibroids, and menstrual health. Building upon long term follow-up of population-based epidemiological cohort and case-control studies, our group has developed a diverse research portfolio that integrates traditional epidemiological measurements, biomarkers (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, microbiome), and tumor markers. More information about Fred Hutch's Ovarian Cancer Research program is available here: https://www.fredhutch.org/en/diseases/ovarian-cancer/ovarian-cancer-research.html Responsibilities The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will have many opportunities for first-author publications; preparing abstracts to present study results at local, national and international scientific conferences; engagement in career and professional development activities; skills and practice in grant writing, disseminating scientific findings, and developing a long-term career plan; and collaboration with investigators on other reproductive and/or cancer epidemiology projects. The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center provides a challenging academic and supportive multi-disciplinary research environment and the candidate will be able to take full advantage of training, education, and mentorship opportunities offered through Fred Hutch. The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $95,014, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
