Job Title: Research Services Senior Professional - Cell Therapy Research

Job Summary:

Senior Laboratory Science Professionals perform duties in an experimental lab, or wet lab, and handle a variety of chemicals and/or potential "wet" hazards. Senior Laboratory Science Professionals perform duties in laboratories where chemicals, drugs, or other materials or biological matters are tested and analyzed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other stakeholders with laboratory and research functions

  • Utilize a variety of laboratory techniques required for research projects

  • Perform experiments and tabulate and analyze data using graph pad

  • Provide animal care related to research studies, as necessary

  • Pick up, transport, and maintain results, samples, documents, materials and other items as needed

  • Provide laboratory science expertise and leadership in study design, study oversight, data management, data analysis and manuscript preparation to assist all levels of investigators, researchers and clinicians on new research activities across a wide range of disciplines

  • Preparing data for discussion and presentation

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, Immunology, chemistry, genetics or related field

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis

  • Two (2) years of professional level research experience in immunology/cancer biology, cell culture

    • A combination of two years research in an academic laboratory setting and a minimum of three publications, published within the last five years, may be substituted for two years of professional experience

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years or more years of full-time employment in an academic research lab with experience or background with murine models, cell culture, molecular biology techniques, immunology, cancer biology, and flow cytometry

  • Master's degree in biology, immunology, molecular biology, cancer biology or related field

  • Experience with CAR-T cell generation and experimentation

  • Competent with ELISAs and molecular cloning.

  • Tissue culture and maintenance of various cell lines.

  • Animal experience (designing/mouse handling/injections/harvesting/sacrificing)

  • Multicolor flow cytometry experience

  • Murine model expert. Ability to lead in this aspect and train others.

  • Previous experience in presenting and/or aiding in publications

  • Experience in Immunohistochemistry

  • Single cell sequencing experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques

  • Ability to function independently but exercise sound judgment in seeking appropriate supervision.

  • Ability to independently organize and maintain laboratory stocks, supplies, and ordering.

  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory protocols for yourself and others.

  • Knowledge of molecular biology, cell culture, cancer biology, and/or immunology

  • Ability to keep detailed records and communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

  • Ability to interpret and comprehend complex research protocol information.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, i.e. capable of maintaining several laboratory projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs and ability to conduct basic statistical analysis

  • Comply with all standard operating procedures and quality control systems per the University of Colorado policy.

  • Comply with any laboratory duties assigned by the PI.

  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a "team"

  • Ability to complete lab functions involving cell culture and aseptic techniques

  • Competency with molecular biology techniques

  • Background in Immunology

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring range for this position has been established as $54,440-$69,248.

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
