The Data Engineering & Business Intelligence Intern will support the Digital Data & Analytics team by assisting in the development, automation, and optimization of datasets and dashboards that power business insights across the organization. This role offers hands-on experience with modern data engineering and analytics tools.

The ideal candidate has a curiosity for solving real-world business problems through data. They should enjoy asking questions, digging into datasets, and uncovering patterns that help the organization make strong data-driven decisions. The intern should have sharp communication skills, selfstarter mentality, and a strong technical acumen. This internship provides exposure to enterprise-level data environments, BI tools, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position will be expected to work at our Prospect Ave Headquarters located at 101 West Prospect Avenue, Cleveland, OH**

  • Assist with building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and tables within the data warehouse.

  • Create and update Tableau dashboards to support business users with actionable insights.

  • Support ad hoc data analysis and reporting needs as requested by stakeholders.

  • Perform QA checks on data and visualizations to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Document data processes, logic, and business rules for knowledge sharing and governance.

  • Support the transformation of datasets used in Digital & eCommerce reporting and analyses.

  • Help develop scalable and automated processes for data ingestion and validation.

  • Partner with analysts and engineers to diagnose data issues and improve data quality.

EDUCATION

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree.

  • Junior or Senior Standing.

  • Availability to work in a long-term co-op (9-12+ months)

  • Availability to work 25-40 hours per week

Preferred:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Introductory experience with SQL (coursework or personal projects acceptable).

  • Familiarity with at least one visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio).

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience building dashboards for academic or professional work.

  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, or basic analytics workflows.

  • Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

  • Experience with Python or another scripting language.
