A globally respected innovator in medical technology is seeking a Laboratory Compliance Specialist to support a highly specialized materials characterization laboratory. This onsite role is ideal for a scientifically driven professional who excels in documentation, data integrity, and regulatory compliance-and enjoys partnering with engineers and scientists to ensure analytical excellence in a regulated environment.

Hours & Pay



  • Pay Rate: $38.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • Work Model: Fully onsite, five days per week



About the Role

The Laboratory Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding the quality, accuracy, and compliance of laboratory data and documentation. While this is not a hands-on testing position, it requires strong scientific judgment and a deep understanding of materials science and analytical chemistry to support R&D teams, regulatory submissions, and continuous improvement initiatives within the lab.

Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct peer reviews of analytical test data and materials characterization results using paper-based and electronic systems
  • Validate data intended for regulatory submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Lead and support laboratory investigations, including OOS/OOT, deviations, and non-conformances
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to strengthen laboratory efficiency and documentation practices
  • Author, review, and revise methods, procedures, work instructions, SOPs, protocols, and technical reports
  • Provide compliance oversight and documentation support for laboratory and cross-functional projects
  • Review supporting documentation such as equipment logs, verification records, and training files
  • Collect, analyze, and trend quality metrics to support laboratory goals and management review
  • Assist with transitions to new laboratory systems and tools as needed



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials science or engineering, biology, biochemistry, or a related scientific field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory scientist/engineer role, quality or peer review, or technical documentation
  • Strong knowledge of good documentation practices and familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems
  • Experience working in a regulated, audit-facing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and related tools
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience interpreting materials science and analytical testing results such as metallography, SEM/EDS, microhardness, tensile testing, corrosion testing, and chemical analysis
  • Familiarity with PTFE material testing and characterization
  • Strong technical writing and professional communication skills
  • Experience with software tools such as Trios, Minitab, Empower, and OMNIC/OMNIC Paradigm
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback on technical documentation
