About the Role The HR & Operations Manager is a highly independent, leadership-level individual contributor responsible for driving operational excellence across the organization. This is not a traditional HR role - complex HR, payroll, and compliance matters are handled by BBSI, and this position functions as the internal owner of operations and the liaison to BBSI. The ideal candidate brings a manager's mindset, confidence in decision-making, and an ability to build structure where clarity is needed. They operate without ongoing direction and ensure the organization stays compliant, organized, and moving forward. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership (Primary)
- Own all internal operational workflows, ensuring organization, consistency, and on-time execution
- Maintain business licenses, registrations, addresses, and compliance documentation
- Lead internal project management - tracking progress, ensuring deliverables, and holding teams accountable
- Support new initiatives by coordinating timelines, information flow, and cross-team alignment
- Assess operations for efficiency improvements and recommend process enhancements
- Monitor operational risks and proactively address gaps
HR Liaison & Policy Steward
- Act as the primary liaison to BBSI, escalating HR concerns, compliance questions, and employee issues
- Enforce internal policies fairly and consistently, ensuring teams follow established standards
- Manage onboarding/offboarding workflows, documentation, and communication with BBSI
- Support managers with policy clarification and HR process coordination
- Identify early warning signs of HR issues ("spidey-sense"), escalate appropriately, and ensure resolution
