SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, supervising accounting staff, ensuring accuracy of financial
transactions, maintaining internal controls, managing accounting cycles, supporting audits, and preparing financial, tax, and operational
reports. The Accounting Manager ensures reliability of financial reporting and partners with Finance leadership to support operational
efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
1. Lead and manage two General Accountants, Collections Specialist, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Accounts Receivable
Specialist including workload oversight, coaching, performance reviews, and ensuring deadlines are met.
2. Oversee payroll-related accounting and employee benefit plan transaction review, including payroll journal entries, 401(k), 125
flexible compensation plan, and group insurance premiums.
3. Review accounting transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies.
4. Promote process efficiencies and ensure adherence to company policies within the accounting team.
5. Analyze expense account details at the request of department managers.
6. Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure timely completion.
7. Manage subsidiary company and intercompany reconciliations.
8. Oversee monthly sales and use tax reconciliation between Avalara and ERP; support responses to state inquiries.
9. Maintain and analyze financial statements, review journal entries, monitor budget vs actuals, balance sheet accounts, cash flow
schedules, and financial reporting packages.
10. Prepare annual expense budgets, labor budgets, costing reports, and related financial packages, as needed.
11. Prepare and file Personal Property Tax Returns, Sunshine Act reports, Census reports, Unclaimed Property Returns, 1099s, and
similar compliance filings.
12. Review capital investment and employment records for Nebraska LB312 and assist with related filings.
13. Support annual financial audit, workers' compensation audit, business income audit, and other audits.
14. Lead annual 401(k) audit support and wage reconciliation.
15. Maintain chart of accounts and general ledger descriptions.
16. Maintain capital asset records, including expenditure review, depreciation, and asset workflow.
17. Support Cost Accounting Manager with cost-related projects.
18. Analyze operational reports including labor, scrap, overhead, variances, etc.
19. Assist Associate Director of Finance and CFO with reporting, variance analysis, and requests from parent company.
20. Help maintain a system of internal controls ensuring the safeguarding of company assets.
21. Complete special projects assigned by Associate Director of Finance or CFO.
22. Serve as administrator for the purchasing card program.
23. Manage treasury and cash management activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related discipline required.
* Five to seven years of technical accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Three years of leadership
experience within an accounting function. Prior financial audit experience helpful.
* Strong systems aptitude required, including advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge, proficiency with ERP systems (Infor Syteline
preferred); demonstrated competency with sales/use tax platforms (Avalara), payroll/HRIS interfaces, fixed asset software, business intelligence tools (Power BI), and digital workflows (SharePoint).

**WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL DEMANDS:
