Summary:

The Financial Analyst I provides entry-level support to the Finance team and works under close supervision from senior staff. This role assists with basic financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities for Goldbelt, Inc. The Financial Analyst I will gain exposure to financial planning and analysis processes, learn to use professional concepts and problem-solving techniques, and apply guidelines to complete assignments. Reporting to the CFO (or designated senior team member), this position will provide support across Finance-related functions, including month-end close activities, data gathering, and preparation of financial reports.

This is a hybrid position requiring in-office presence 2-3 days per week; candidates must be able to commute to the Herndon, VA office.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with preparing standard financial reports and supporting schedules under supervision
  • Help gather and organize data for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare basic monthly reports and assist with monitoring key metrics
  • Support the finance team in ad hoc analysis, data validation, and project tasks
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Maintain and update financial models and dashboards
  • Learn and apply company policies, procedures, and financial systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Excel)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial inputs and ensure data accuracy
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance team

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of financial principles and data analysis
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Possesses attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers and with outside agencies, partners, shareholders, and business associates
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to adapt messages and strategies for diverse audiences
  • Basic understanding of relevant software, tools, and systems used in the corporate environment. This includes proficiency in standard software applications, including Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) with strong knowledge of Excel

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience (internship or entry-level finance/accounting role preferred)
  • Must pass a background and credit check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience or exposure to Deltek Costpoint
  • Previous experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs)
  • Previous government contracting experience

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $75,000 annually.
