This opportunity is in the Legal department.

Working actively with executive and senior leadership teams, our Legal Department assists in achieving the company's goals by not only partnering with the business but also managing corporate liability and compliance. Role Description:

As Associate Coverage Counsel, you will deliver strategic legal guidance to our growing Claims organization under the direction of the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel. You'll apply your sharp analytical skills and sound judgment to provide actionable advice on complex coverage issues across a broad spectrum of insurance products, including commercial general liability, public entity, commercial auto, and workers' compensation. In this role, you'll collaborate with internal partners and outside counsel, draft clear and well-reasoned coverage analyses, and help shape our coverage positions. Qualifications:

Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school is required. Must be currently licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum 3 or more years of insurance coverage experience required, 5 or more years preferred.
  • Experience with commercial general liability, public entity, commercial auto, and workers' compensation insurance products.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Westlaw.
  • Ability to work independently on high-volume caseloads and manage multiple large projects simultaneously.
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Qualified candidates residing outside the St. Louis metropolitan area are eligible to work remotely or in one of our regional offices. For candidates who reside in the St. Louis metropolitan area, if hired you will be required to work a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd, Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to sign a Remote Work Agreement and/or follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.


      Preferred Qualifications:



      • Fluency in translating legal concepts into actionable guidance for claims professionals.
      • Demonstrated collaborative, proactive, and strategic thinking with strong business and legal judgment.
      • Experience working in a cross-functional legal or insurance environment.

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
