As a Prep & Finish Technician, you'll perform precision masking by applying thermal spray barrier tape to specific areas of each part.

What you'll do:

  • Precision Masking for Thermal Spray/ Metalizing/ and/or Metal Spray.
  • Post processing unmasking.
  • Read and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts for product specifications such as tooling instructions, tolerances and dimensions. Translates instructions into actions.
  • Apply thermal barrier tape to specific areas of each part
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Inspect quality and accuracy of run work.
  • Set up and operate test equipment (e.g., pressure test).
  • Participate in continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Cross train in other complementary skills and seek endorsement for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
  • Move between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
  • Participate in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with hands in close spaces on fine details
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
  • Previous experience working with precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds (unassisted).
  • Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, rework process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals, and MSDS labels.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systems.
  • Specialized training in machine shop practices.
