Overview

We are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), also referred to as an Emergency Response Technician or First Responder in our Sporting KC Department. As an EMT you will work for our hospital and support Sporting Kansas City (Sporting KC), ensuring the health and safety of athletes, staff, and spectators during sporting events. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN as needed.

Hours: 12 hour shifts - 7:00am to 7:00pm

Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Emergency Response: Assess and manage medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies under the supervision of nursing staff and physicians.
  • Patient Care Assistance: Assist with patient care based on individual needs within the EMT's scope of practice.
  • Safety Maintenance: Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to established protocols and procedures
  • Collaboration: Work under the direction of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse to deliver coordinated care
  • Responsibility: assess and provide basic management of medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies under the supervision of nursing and physician staff
  • Assist with patient care: help maintain a safe environment, and operate under the direction of the Emergency Room Department


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
2. Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
3. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
2. Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
3. Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.
