As a Security Guard - Freight Yard Access in Plainfield, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will manage access control for employees, visitors, and deliveries, verify credentials, and maintain accurate entry logs using site systems. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, while providing clear, professional customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to client employees, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges, managing visitor and vendor sign-in and/or sign-out, and maintaining accurate access logs.
• Screen inbound and outbound vehicle traffic by confirming delivery appointments, checking shipping documentation, and directing trucks to designated gates, docks, and staging areas per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns, documenting events, and communicating with site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, observing for irregular conditions, checking doors and gates, and reporting maintenance or operational issues per post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
