Distribution Specialist II

The position is responsible for ensuring that key Service, Quality and Inventory Accuracy metrics are fulfilled in EO's Warehouse Department. Duties includes Receiving, Picking, Packing, Put Away, Returns, Production Orders, and Cycle Counting.

A Distribution Specialist Level II is expected to perform duties to assist in achieving company goals through inbound receipt of inventory and on-time line fill by preparing shipments for domestic and international customer orders. Assist in managing consumable materials and hardware and assisting in the assembly process by cleaning and preparing components, tools, and materials needed in the manufacturing area. The job also includes maintaining a clean and organized workspace and adhering to safety protocols.

Must be able to perform the primary responsibilities that are essential in the warehouse area. Individuals must follow all safety rules and procedures, as well as adhere to all company policies.

These functions include but are not limited to:

Ensure that orders are picked and packed accurately as indicated on packing slip
• Clean and bag mechanical inventory
• Visual inspection of individual subcomponents for cosmetic compliance and cleanliness
• Maintaining production Kan- Ban items
• Complete inventory movements such as receiving, and putting inventory on shelves
• Maintain proper entries in warehouse software program
• Maintain good housekeeping as required by 6S practices
• Assist with mailroom duties as needed
• Properly pack items in shipping boxes
• Assist with packaging products to align with company packaging requirements
• Pull and put away parts for job orders as required
• Process International shipments and documents as required
• Process customer returns from intercompany and third-party vendors as needed
• Operate hand truck, power jack etc. as needed
• Operate paper fill machine
• Run basic SAP warehouse transactions as required by management

Education/Experience

High School or equivalent; one (1) to two (2) years minimum experience in a warehouse environment.

Physical Requirements

Adequate manual dexterity to perform essential functions; ability to use some physical efforts to handle heavy materials, boxes, or equipment (most tasks require no more than 50 lbs. lifting); position requires candidate to be on their feet a large percentage of the time; ability to work in a warehouse environment.

Compensation Range Transparency:

At Edmund Optics, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The posted salary range for this role reflects the expected base pay. The actual offer will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, education, work experience, business needs, and geographic location.

Salary Range:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
