What to Expect
The Cell Engineering team at Tesla San Diego is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to support cell prototype builds, component and cell validation/testing, equipment installation, and failure root cause analysis.

What You'll Do
  • Support all aspects of cell pilot line operations, including:(1)Cell assembly and in-process quality control (e.g., measurements, documentation).(2)Troubleshooting andoptimizingcell production equipment/processes tomaintainhigh-quality standards.(3)Timely failure analysis and root cause identification to resolve assembly defects and ensure defect-free production
  • Conductcomponentand cell-level tests while adhering to safety protocols, including pre- and post-test metrology
  • Assistwith equipment setup, validation, and maintenance
  • Perform and document cell validation/abuse testing (e.g., burst tests, pull tests, torque tests, CT scans, general abuse tests)
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensuretimelytask completion

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assemblies in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skillsrequired
  • Strong attention to detail, with experience documenting metrics and conducting in-process inspections using tools like micrometers, calipers, and multimeters
  • Willingness to learn and apply advanced characterization techniques (e.g., microscopy, X-ray analysis)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Self-driven, independent problem-solver capable of working with minimal supervision

    Expected Compensation
    $23.18 - $47.88/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
