Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Location: On-Site role - Meriden, CT 06451
Salary Range: $100k - $130k/year

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the development, optimization, and execution of manufacturing processes for aerospace components, with a focus on composites, metal fabrication, and hydraulic systems. This role is critical to ensuring production efficiency, product quality, and compliance with aerospace industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
*Lead and manage a team of manufacturing engineers across multiple disciplines (composites, metals, hydraulics).
*Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that improve productivity, reduce waste, and ensure high-quality output.
*Oversee the design and optimization of tooling, fixtures, and equipment for composite layup, metal machining/forming, and hydraulic assembly.
*Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
*Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
*Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and customer specifications.
*Manage capital projects including equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
*Analyze production data and KPIs to identify trends and areas for improvement.
*Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
*Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Qualifications:
*Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master"s preferred).
*4+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
*Strong technical background in composite materials, metalworking processes (CNC machining, forming, welding), and hydraulic systems.
*Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
*Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and ERP systems.
*Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

Preferred Skills:
*Experience with automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.
*Knowledge of aerospace certification and regulatory requirements.
*Hands-on experience with composite layup techniques and autoclave operations.
*Understanding of hydraulic system design and testing.
