Role Description

Form Energy is seeking an experienced Controls Technician to join our Manufacturing Control and Execution Systems team. You will maintain and optimize the novel equipment used to produce our Iron-Air batteries, supporting the full lifecycle of our automated systems at Form Factory 1.

What you'll do:
  • Support & Maintenance: Provide electrical and controls troubleshooting for production to minimize downtime and ensure safety.

  • System Optimization: Perform minor PLC/HMI software updates and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaboration: Work with engineering and maintenance teams to deploy new equipment and fabricate machine control panels.

  • Data Systems: Troubleshoot MES data transactions and track production data within PLC programs

What you'll bring:
  • Experience: 2+ years as a hands-on controls technician in a manufacturing environment; Associate degree in a related field preferred.

  • PLC/HMI Proficiency: Experience with Siemens TIA-Portal, Allen Bradley, Rockwell or comparable ladder logic programming

  • Technical Skills: Ability to read/redline electrical schematics, troubleshoot functional safety (ProfiSafe/CIP), and configure OT networks.

  • Vision & Robotics: Familiarity with Keyence/Cognex scanners; experience with FANUC, Epson, or Kawasaki robotics is a plus.

  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and clear technical communication.

Where you'll work:

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
