How you will help us create value together:


As aReliability Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for theReliability And Test Enginering (RTE)department. The RTE department primarily supports design for reliability (DfR) and field validation and test activities for new product development (NPD) and product issue resolution projects.


This position will be based onsite at ourSouth Harbor location in Milwaukee's Harbor District! The target start date for this role isSummer 2026 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2026school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess the quality of various reliability attributes of Komatsu components and products.
  • Populate Reliability database in SolidWorks Manage in support of product issue resolution and reliability modeling of new and existing products.
  • Perform various reliability analyses using ReliaSoft and MSExcelsoftware.
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis on Komatsu products and components.
  • Assist with machine Risk Assessments.
  • Assist with the performance of DFMEA's on Komatsu components and products.
  • Create New Product Development and other Engineering process documents using MSWordand MSExcel.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree inMechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering,or similar, from an accredited college or university.
  • Junior, Senior, or Master'slevel student in good academic standing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towardestablished goals.
  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Interest in or aptitude to learn about careers in the heavy equipment industry.
  • Basic familiarity or experience with statistics and/or reliability concepts, tools, and methods preferred
