Overview

Reporting to the Director of Planning and Design, the Program Manager of Facility Planning provides project support and coordination across the entire portfolio of requests and projects within the facilities department for scheduling, consistency of project parameters, space utilization, and resource management. The program manager will work closely with requesting departments and individuals throughout the organization. They will assist with management and execution of capital projects in partnership with facility department leaders and will be responsible for continuous improvement of the facility planning processes. The program manager will have responsibility to manage project scope and expectations from requesting departments to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Extensive documentation of decisions and consultation with facility department leaders on points of disagreement will be required.

Responsibilities

    Space Design Standards Maintain and implement standards for space design across all projects thoughout the facilities portfolio. Work closely with requesting departments and vendors to specify and procure furniture when needed. Work closely with other members of the facility planning department to plan, coordinate, and execute projects related to space requests and moves with responsibility for design of systems furniture layouts and ancillary furniture selections. Plan, review, and execute furniture purchases related to capital projects in partnership with the Director of Planning and Design. Develop and implement a long-term strategy for maintenance updates to furniture across the organization. Regularly walk through the facility to evaluate existing and recently installed furniture. Establish and maintain documentation of furniture installations across the organization. Assist with management and prioritization of budget for maintenance furniture replacement.
  • Interior Finish Standards Maintain and implement standards for interior architectural finishes thoughout the organization. Develop and implement a long-term strategy for maintenance updates to the interior finishes across the organization. Regularly walk through the facility to evaluate existing and recently installed finishes. Work closely with other members of the facilities department to maintain finish standards during maintenance and repair project work. Plan, review, and implement interior finish standards in capital projects in partnership with the Director of Planning and Design. Establish and maintain documentation of finish upgrades across the organization. Assist with management and prioritization of budget for maintenance finish upgrades.
  • Project Management Prioritize, schedule, and coordinate space modifications and moves in partnership with the facilities planning and in-house construction departments. Ensure proper project communication and documentation for projects in their scope of responsibility. Collaborate with architectural and engineering consultants as required for in-house and small capital project design. Manage and oversee the creation of architectural and engineering drawings for small capital projects. Manage the schedule, milestones, and budget for small capital projects in partnership with leaders. Coordinate with construction project managers and contractors during execution of capital construction projects to ensure compliance with architectural drawings, especially with regards to furniture and finish standards. Assist department leaders with management and design for larger capital construction projects. Attend design and construction meetings alongside leaders.
  • Other Duties Assist with review, approval, and implementation of signage, artwork, and other miscellaneous facilities requests across the organization. Assist with estimating for capital project budgeting, especially with regard to finish and furniture updates. Assist with maintenance of standard equipment lists in collaboration with construction teams. Utilize software related to facility planning (Smartsheet, ServiceNow, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and others) and provide input as appropriate for continuous process improvement. Collaborate with the marketing department to ensure coordination between facility and marketing design guidelines as appropriate.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree architecture, architectural studies, interior design, or related field and 3-5 years experience Experience involving commerical furniture design, interior design, and/or architecture is essential. Experience with management of institutional or healthcare-specific furniture assets is preferred.
  • NCIDQ, EDAC, or CHID certification Preferred 180 Days

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $31.96/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.



Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
