Job Title: Facilities Technician Pay Rate: $28.94 Reports to (Title): Facilities Specialist Location: Lakeland Position Summary The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall condition, appearance, and functionality of the manufacturing facility. This includes performing maintenance, repairs, and improvements related to building systems such as plumbing, roofing, painting, lighting, and general facility upkeep. The Facilities Technician ensures a safe, clean, and efficient work environment that supports ongoing production and operational needs. Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of building structures, including walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, and roofs. Conduct painting, patching, and finishing work to maintain facility appearance and safety standards. Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, and fixture replacements. Support maintenance of HVAC, lighting, and other facility systems as needed. Inspect facilities regularly to identify and address safety hazards, maintenance needs, and repair opportunities. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders to minimize disruptions to production. Assist with minor electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs within scope of expertise. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work in the CMMS system. Collaborate with maintenance, production, and safety teams to ensure facility readiness and compliance with safety standards. Support special projects, equipment moves, and facility upgrades as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred. 2-4 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or building repair in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and maintenance manuals. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) preferred. Must be self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work in various environments, including hot, cold, or confined spaces, and at heights when required. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed. Exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and chemicals with proper PPE provided. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
