Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Embassy Patrol Driver in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will provide professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting while supporting a respectful public-facing environment. This post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver's license under AU driver policy requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting support from site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
  • Control access at designated posts by checking identification, screening visitors, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and monitoring entry and exit activity per site policy.
  • Prepare clear, detailed reports on patrols, incidents, alarms, and unusual activity, and maintain required logs and communication with Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Have an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
