Description

Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 2 to serve as a Capabilities Development Lead in support of the Fort Meade Customer. This role supports full lifecycle software development and systems engineering efforts, working closely with customer leadership, capability thread leads, and leadership to assess analytic health, development status, and delivery readiness. This position will coordinate across multiple customers and contractors to translate capability concepts into actionable requirements, support planning and estimation activities, and deliver high-quality analytic documentation, metrics, and briefings.



Responsibilities

    Serve as Capabilities Development Lead (CDL), translating analytic concepts into defined system and software requirements.
  • Coordinate with customer leadership, capability thread leads, DAC TTO leadership, and contractors to track analytic health, status, and delivery.
  • Support software development planning and estimation for analytic capabilities across platforms such as GhostMachine and QTA.
  • Manage and trace system and derived requirements in alignment with DoDAF and SOA architectures.
  • Contribute to systems engineering documentation, including SEPs, ICDs, requirements specifications, and ICDs.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), CCBs, and technical reviews to resolve cross-discipline issues.
  • Develop metrics, analyses, documentation, and briefings to support stakeholder and leadership decision-making.
  • Support verification planning, interface management, and configuration changes across the system lifecycle.
  • Provide input to WBS, work packages, and Integrated Master Plans.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • 14 years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline,
    OR 5 additional years of Systems Engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting full lifecycle software development and systems engineering efforts.
  • Strong experience with requirements management, capability development, and project planning.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple customers, contractors, and technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of DoDAF, SOA, and enterprise system architectures.
  • Experience supporting analytic platforms such as GhostMachine and QTA (or similar).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leadership and technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage complex coordination efforts in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.


Salary Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
