Position Overview

The PO Lead Portfolio Delivery Manager is an individual contributor who drives delivery of the Precision Oncology (PO) portfolio - orchestrating crossfunctional execution across at least six products and leading priorities within the portfolio. The role elevates enterprise outcomes by aligning strategy, coordinating dependencies, and enabling timely, compliant delivery across regulated cancer diagnostics. The PO Lead Portfolio Delivery Manager advises on prioritization, manages escalations through the portfolio team, and partners with senior and cross-functional leaders to ensure the portfolio delivers measurable value. The role is handson and requires a strong, trustbased approach that brings diverse functions together to achieve milestone and launch readiness in a domestic scope, with the ability to assess international application as needed.

The Precision Oncology portfolio includes products designed to help patients and providers proactively discern cancer risk, make better treatment decisions, and understand the likelihood of recurrence. This position collaborates with a broad range of functions including, but not limited to, Product Strategy, Product Delivery, Revenue Cycle, Research and Development (R&D), Medical, Lab, Clinical, IT, Operations, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, Market Access, Legal, Customer Experience, and Customer Care.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead delivery of businesscritical priorities (under the PO portfolio) in partnership with functions such as Product Strategy, Product Delivery, Revenue Cycle, Research and Development (R&D), Medical, Lab, Clinical, IT, Operations, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, Market Access, Legal, Customer Experience, and Customer Care.

  • Drive positive organizational change management through planning, communications, and relationship building aligned to portfolio outcomes.

  • Promote an open, collaborative environment built on trust to foster positive teamwork.

  • Advise on prioritization, influence decisions through portfolio governance and datadriven tradeoffs and ensure alignment with PO strategic outcomes.

  • Partner with portfolio leadership and crossfunctional teams to translate annual operating and midrange plans into a sequenced delivery plan.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to synthesize requirements and deliver on differentiated portfolio roadmaps and supportive solutions and services.

  • Motivate and lead teams of cross-functional resources in a matrixed organization with competing priorities, with or without direct authority or reporting relationships, delegating effectively to functions to meet goals and deadlines.

  • Advise on appropriate success metrics (OKRs/KPIs) tied to portfolio value realization.

  • Facilitate, organize, and monitor interconnected priorities surfacing and resolving dependencies.

  • Remove barriers to team progress and resolve conflicts inside and outside teams.

  • Proactively identify portfolio risks, manage escalations through the portfolio team, and coordinate mitigation plans to minimize impact to key deliverables.

  • Manage tracking, reporting, and transparent communications of progress to stakeholders.

  • Develop and present compelling updates to multiple audiences (from delivery teams to senior leadership), conveying obstacles, solutions, and opportunities with clarity.

  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures applicable to regulated diagnostics.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability and means to travel between Exact Sciences locations.

  • Ability to travel 30% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend and international travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, Engineering, or other relevant field as outlined in the essential duties.

  • 6+ years of portfolio delivery experience with increasing scope and responsibility in diagnostic, biopharma, or medical device fields.

  • 6+ years of experience directly and/or indirectly leading people with demonstrated ability to communicate clear expectations, motivate and inspire others, and successfully achieve goals through a team.

  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter to carry the portfolio vision and strategy all the way to tactical planning and successful execution in a dynamic marketplace.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large crossfunctional teams, prioritize, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple stakeholders and resolving conflict within teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, influence, and drive results with a high emphasis on quality.

  • Demonstrated ability to course correct when issues arise with strong tactical and clear execution plans.

  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in oncology.

  • Successful track record of achieving portfolio and company goals in a high-growth and highly competitive healthcare field.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Scientific discipline, or field related to the essential duties of the job

  • 9+ years of experience working in a team setting in healthcare, biopharma, medical device, or technology fields with experience in two or more of the following: strategic planning, business development, portfolio management, product development, product lifecycle management, operations management, and/or commercialization including sales or marketing.

  • 7+ years of experience working in U.S. and global regulated environments.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification.

Salary Range:

$112,000.00 - $190,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
