As the Medical Secretary II, you will perform expanded and advanced level medical secretary duties including but not limited to performing outreach to patients regarding referrals and follow up appointments, assisting with the checkout function, and entering data for and distributing after visit summaries (AVS). Participates as an integral member of a medical team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Patient & Operational Support: Proactively addresses patient satisfaction, flow, and compliance issues; resolves operational concerns and escalates when needed
  • Communication & Coordination: Manages complex calls, patient outreach, appointment scheduling, referrals, and documentation requests from third parties
  • Administrative Duties: Prepares department schedules, appointment templates, and clinical schedules; handles prescription refills and authorization processes
  • Data & Documentation: Collects and verifies data for reports and studies; completes and routes medical forms and paperwork to appropriate parties
  • Team Collaboration: Participates in departmental projects, EMR upgrades, staff training, and provides backup coverage and meeting support

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a clinical setting with at least one year as a Medical Secretary
  • Computer experience required with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs. Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional and appropriate manner
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, customer service, time management, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in medical assisting or graduate of certification in medical office administration program
  • Working knowledge of patient related documents

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.22 to $31.43 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
