The Formulation QC Laboratory Technician is responsible for preparing various solutions used in the production of Chembio Diagnostic products. This role also conducts Quality Control (QC) testing and evaluates product performance and processes according to applicable standards and regulations. The technician also supports inspections, the release of incoming materials, and the release of in-process components through proper labeling and documentation.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare buffers, conjugates, test lines, control lines, and other components used in diagnostic product manufacturing.
  • Operate laboratory equipment efficiently and safely; conduct daily, weekly, and monthly checks, maintenance, and calibrations.
  • Keep laboratory workspaces clean and organized, and dispose of hazardous materials properly.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate batch records, laboratory logs, calibration records, and QA documentation.
  • Perform QA inspection, sampling, testing, and release of incoming raw materials, components, and in-process materials.
  • Conduct and review analytical and microbiological testing, including daily readings of microbial plates.
  • Identify, document, and report deviations, non-conformances, and inspection failures to Quality Management.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, GLPs, OSHA requirements, and FDA/USDA regulatory standards.
  • Support environmental monitoring programs, DI water systems, and equipment calibration processes.
  • Assist with method validation, investigations for out-of-specification or out-of-trend results, and label approval processes.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, vendor audits, and departmental projects as needed.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science field.
  • Familiar with laboratory equipment, such as spectrophotometers, pH meters, and similar devices.
  • Attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Over 3 years of lab experience.
  • Experience in a Quality Control environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry, with knowledge of GMP and ISO regulations, is preferred.
  • Microbiology experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities
