What You Will Do:

Procurement

  • Source, purchase, and expedite materials, components, and services to support production and operational needs.
  • Manage purchase orders from creation through delivery, ensuring accuracy of pricing, quantities, and terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery issues, and escalate concerns when required.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supply agreements to drive cost savings and ensure supply reliability.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers as needed.

Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain production plans and material requirements using MRP or ERP systems.
  • Review and adjust planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, reorder points) to optimize inventory availability and turnover.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and production schedules to determine material needs.
  • Coordinate with operations and warehouse teams to resolve material shortages or production constraints.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and supplier performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering on new product introductions, material changes, and obsolescence planning.
  • Partner with finance to ensure cost accuracy, budget adherence, and forecasting alignment.
  • Provide clear communication to internal teams regarding material status, risks, and mitigation plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a buyer, planner, or combined supply chain role preferred.
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.) preferred.
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or operations-based environments is an asset.

Position Details:

  • Office-based with regular interaction across supply chain, operations, and vendor contacts.
  • This position follows a Monday-Friday schedule and requires availability beyond 40 hours per week to support multiple hub locations and maintain established relationships with international suppliers.
  • After completion of the training phase, the role is eligible for one work-from-home day per week.
  • Occasional travel for supplier visits may be required.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
