Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) - In School Health Pekin

* Provide routine health services to students within the CMA scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs, administering prescribed medications, and documenting care provided and reporting illnesses/injuries to parents and the school nurse as warranted.

* Support the management of chronic health conditions (e.g. diabetes, asthma, severe allergies, seizure disorders) by following individual health plans and emergency action plans.

* Manage and maintain accurate student immunization and health records for school compliance. Reports all non-compliance cases to registered nurse and/or building principal in a timely manner.

* Enter and maintains accurate student health information in the computerized student information management system.

* Participate in health plans, staff trainings, and emergency drills.

* Provide prompt, adequate, and competent first aid services for students as needed.

* Prepare and/or performs health screenings as assigned

* Ensure the health office is well-maintained and functional.

* Possess knowledge about the safety policies of the school health program, as well as the established

policies and procedures of the organization and the school district.

* Actively participates in cleaning and disinfecting the health office.
