Software Engineer - 100% Remote

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a 12+ month contract position with our client located in Eden Prairie, MN. This position is 100% remote.

Pay range: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level.

Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Software Engineer is to develop software solutions in accordance with assigned projects and sprint goals. The Software Engineer also works closely with the Technical Manager and Project Manager/Scrum Master towards backlog and user story refinement. The Software Engineer shall have a strong understanding of the complete software development life cycle and shall possess demonstrable ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Complete programming and system analysis tasks as assigned.
• Review requirements and design documents to ensure project deliverables are met.
• Identify and communicate issues or risks with project deliverables.
• Actively seek areas of applications and products to take ownership and accountability.
• Recommend possible technical solutions for issues encountered during projects.
• Provide user support for business applications when needed.
• Communicate effectively with users to answer questions and resolve urgent requests.
• Advise the Technical Manager on information technology matters.
• Bring a continuous improvement mindset to the team and encourage professional growth in others.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5+ years of IT experience in software development.
• Experience in system design and building secure distributed applications.
• Proven analysis, design, and programming experience.
• Prior experience in health care with claims adjudication systems.
• Prior experience in project management.
• Strong technical knowledge in Microsoft .NET and related technologies.
• Ability to understand and manipulate database structures.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Clear understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and distributed system architecture.
• Experience with .NET, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS3, HTML5, AngularJS, Angular, ReactJS, and modern web development frameworks.
• Experience with web services, Web API, RESTful services, microservices, API security best practices, Service-Oriented Architecture, and Enterprise Service Bus.
• Experience with NHibernate, Dapper, or Entity Framework.
• Experience developing windows services and creating stored procedures, database views, triggers, and indexes.
• Understanding of DevOps concepts and modern CI/CD practices.

Desired skills:

• Ability to leverage AI in day-to-day engineering practices.
• Knowledge of .NET Framework 3.5 - 4.8, .NET Core, and .NET 5.
• Knowledge of SOLID principles, Enterprise Design Patterns, Event Driven Architecture, and designing distributed systems.
• Experience with NUnit and Test Driven Development.
• Familiarity with IIS, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Agile development experience using SCRUM.
• Experience with XML, XSLT, and PowerShell.
